Inspired local business minds to compete in “The Apprentice” competition for Saint Michael’s
Harrogate charity Saint Michael’s Hospice is recruiting now for local businesses to test their entrepreneurial talent in a “The Apprentice”-style competition.
The annual event, called ‘You’re Inspired’, sees teams from local businesses given one month to turn a starter loan of £200 into as much profit as possible, with all the proceeds going to fund vital hospice services.
This year, local businessmen Russ Hirst and John Husband will be Harrogate’s answer to Lord Sugar, using their years of experience to coach the competitors. Hirst and Husband will also preside over the awards evening at the end of the competition, when the winners will be announced.
Saint Michael’s chief executive Tony Collins said, “It’s fantastic to see so many local businesses, including Stray FM, already putting teams forward for You’re Inspired. Hopefully many more will register before the deadline on 18 September.
“In past years the competition has been fierce with some truly inspired business ideas from the teams, including stationary bike rides, car washes and ‘dunk the director’!
“This is a unique opportunity for local firms big and small to show off their skills to the public, all whilst raising money for essential services for people in our area affected by terminal illness and bereavement.”
