Harrogate hospice charity’s thanks for a year of support

As 2019 draws to a close, Saint Michael’s chief executive Tony Collins would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our supporters and volunteers for your help and support to hospice care throughout the year.

“Your dedication, fundraising, donations and time means we are able to continue providing our expert care, comfort and support for the people who need our services.

“2019 saw Herriot Hospice Homecare and Saint Michael’s come together as one organisation, as part of our commitment to make an even greater impact and to extend our high-quality, personalised care to more families across the communities we serve.

“We can’t provide this much-needed support to people across North Yorkshire without each and every one of you and I hope that you feel proud of what we have all achieved together in 2019.

“Our HOME service is reaching out to support more people in the place of their choice; this year we cared for twice as many people at home than we did in 2018, enabling more people to receive personalised care in their own homes in their final weeks and days.

“More than 700 people and their families received vital inpatient and day care. This is in addition to the impact our services make to thousands of local people every year.

“More than 800 children and adults accessed support from our specialist bereavement support services, Just ‘B’, and more than 400 people received support from our Patient and Family Support Team.

“Every one of you has played an important part in this year of achievement and we look forward to extending and improving our impact, with your help, in 2020.

“We wish all of our supporters a peaceful Christmas and all the very best for the New Year.”
