|Description||How it works: |
This May, we're challenging you to walk, run, jog, cycle, scoot, swim or dance your way towards a 100-themed challenge and asking you to raise £100 or more for local hospice care.
You could try for 100 miles or km in a month, or keep active for 100 minutes a day. Do 100 sit ups or burpees... It's up to you. . .
You can complete your 100 challenge anywhere that is safe for you to do so - in your local park, garden or on a treadmill in the warmth of your home; on your own, with your children, your dogs or partner. We want everyone to get involved, feel good and make a difference.
Entry is free, and all particpants get a free t-shirt.
We'll also send you a special pack, with all the information you need, room to record your progress, ways to make your excercise mindful, and even an eye-spy challenge for children to join in with.
At the end, everyone will receive a special thank you from us, for supporting us.
Whether you do this to get in shape for summer, just for the fun of being outside, or in memory of someone special, we'll be cheering you on to hit your 100 - and your £100 fundraising target.
Get friends and family to sponsor you and your personal fitness goal will also be helping support local families living with terminal illness and bereavement.
How your fundraising could help:
£100 could help a member of our specialist HOME service provide a package of care for someone affected by terminal illness, helping them remain in the place they feel most safe and comfortable, surrounded by the people and things that matter most.
Our healthcare assistants travel hundreds of miles each week to deliver this care and support hundreds of people in ther own homes.
£100 could help provide tasty, home-cooked meals for ten patients. Throughout the pandemic, mealtimes can be particularly important; a comforting treat, a taste of home and a chance to spend time with family and friends who are able to continue to visit our Hornbeam Park-based hospice, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our team to make this a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
£100 could help provide a package of resources to support children or young people with their emotional wellbeing or bereavement during the pandemic, using technology and online resources to help them deal with challenges in these strange and unsettling new times
