Saint Michael's virtual gifts - The Gift of Care

What are Saint Michael’s Virtual Gifts?

Gifts of Care are virtual gifts, so while you can’t wrap them up, you can still give them to friends or family – and just like the most thoughtful and personal gifts, they are sure to give you, and the person receiving them, that warm glow.

Not only does each gift help your local hospice to make a real difference to families living with terminal illness, Gifts of Care are:

  • A unique gift for someone hard to buy for
  • A special way to pay tribute to someone in your thoughts or a gift in recognition of a cause close to their heart
  • A rewarding way to support your local hospice

It could be a home-cooked meal to tempt and nourish a patient, special support for a child who’s missing their mum or dad, or a day’s care for a patient at our hospice; there’s a meaningful and memorable gift idea to suit every pocket.

These gifts give examples of the outstanding care and support we provide to people living with terminal illnesses and represent how your money could be used. Every pound will fund our vital work and services, helping local people living with terminal illness and bereavement, and their families.

As a charity, we spend £5million a year providing vital hospice care that is free of charge to patients and their families.  Nearly 90 per cent of this work is funded by our community. The money raised through sales of gifts and donations could be used to fund nursing care, transport or medicines.

We will spend money wherever the need is greatest.

  • What makes a SMH virtual gift so special?

Your donation could be the Gift of Care someone living with terminal illness needs, wants and deserves, helping people to feel more comfortable in their own homes or at the hospice.

  • What will I receive?

We’ll send you a special emailed gift certificate, which can be printed at home and personalised with your own message.

Or, if you prefer, we can send you a copy of this certificate to pass along to the recipient.
