Support for Families and Carers
We understand that when someone is terminally ill, everyone around them is affected. Family, friends and carers may feel depressed, helpless, frightened, angry or emotionally or physically drained by their caring duties. In these circumstances Saint Michael’s is here to help those connected with our patients.
Talking to one of our experienced staff, who understands and doesn’t judge, can help people overcome their concerns. Our team can also often help with the practical and financial problems that may arise when someone is ill.
We may be able to suggest aids and adaptations that can make life easier at home or give advice that may ease any worries around unpaid bills, extra expenses or reduced income. We are often also able to put people in touch with additional help and resources, if they are available.
All Saint Michael’s services are free to patients and their families and are available to people living in the Harrogate district, who are 18-year-old and upwards.
