Lymphoedema Support
Lymphoedema is a type of swelling that occurs when the body’s lymphatic drainage system becomes blocked or damaged. This can be hereditary or caused by surgery, cancer treatments, infections, trauma or burns.
The lymphoedema support service at Saint Michael’s offers specialist help and support for individuals affected by this condition, whatever the cause. We help patients to understand their condition and offer treatment and advice on how they can successfully control their lymphoedema and minimise the effect it has on their life.
Saint Michael’s is the only organisation in the Harrogate district offering help to people living with lymphoedema. We offer care for this condition from our community clinics in Ripon, Knaresborough and Harrogate, as well as our Hospice, at Crimple Valley, Harrogate.
All our services are free to patients and their families and are available to people living in the Harrogate district, who are 18 years old and upwards.
