Counselling and Befriending Services


The one-to-one counselling sessions offered by Talking Spaces are run by experienced volunteer counsellors with the appropriate professional qualifications. These individuals are interviewed and subject to checks with the disclosure and barring service (DBS) and receive regular supervision to monitor the standard of their practice. Both day and evening appointments are available.

This services are free at the point of need and individuals wanting to access such support should talk to a health or social care professional involved with their care about making a referral.

Befriending: Volunteer Visitor Service

Saint Michael's volunteer visitor service pairs a volunteer with a client who they visit for a cuppa, a chat, or perhaps a short drive out or walk to the shops. The scheme aims to help people feel less isolated or lonely while also building confidence.Find out more here.
